Considering the quite special sized and detailed gloves Chi-Chi has, this was no option this time and I had to make them fully myself. I'm completely not used to cosplaying cute and shy characters, but what helped was that I was also not 100% comfortable in such a bare costume, even though I was wearing a bodysuit.

I remember struggling so much with it, while it's actually a joke compared to a lot of other costumes I've made. Inbetween my pre-judging in the morning and the afternoon where I had to be on stage I had a photoshoot with RE:PLICA / MikoBura, who also has an account here: bura She is also a cosplayer and a huge Dragon Ball fan.How long the drying process takes depends on the weather, but on a general (quite cold) day in the Netherlands this can take a full day. The first version of the wings were functioning enough, but not that great, so I hope to improve them soon. So, even though I told myself "no more competitions for a while", I signed up for a local competition with this costume. In some of the newer games and media young Chi-Chi's design has more blue-ish green, so I got quite some comments why I didn't go for that color version, but I think this bold green is a lot better. Unfortunately nobody I knew was photographing and I haven't found any pictures of this meetup afterwards.

But on the other hand, my boyfriend was laughing like crazy too because of how in-character Roshi was, so we had lots of fun! The best way to fix this mess was filling everything up that I damaged, re-sand it and repaint a lot of parts over again. So the process you see here happens with at least 3 layers and most of them have to be undercoated in 2-4 different positions so everything can dry well. After being happy with the shape and a lot of sanding, I started measuring out where all the details were going to be. D I always like to make overviews/stories like this as it's also a good diary and memory for myself about such a huge project.

To make sure the boots would keep their shape, I made a foam base and covered this foam base with fabric.I started with making this costume for fun, but I was lured into signing up for a cosplay competition with it, so I also had a though deadline where I couldn't remake every part that I wanted from it!

But hey, it was my first time I made a helmet, so I just brushed it off and started working on a version 2 from the things I've learned! In Chi-Chi's character design most of her hair pieces are quite "square" and I decided I wanted to literally recreate this effect.Chi-Chi's hairstyle is a variation of a hime-cut, which I already cut multiple times, but I wanted to make this one a bit more special. The necklace is worn at the part where it bodysuit changes to my real body and it (hopefully) helps to make everything look more natural. Definitely looking forward to seeing your Lilith progress too I got a lot of questions from people asking how I the shoulderplates stay in place because there is nothing it attaches to. For some reason I had the bright idea that I could use small pieces of foam to cover the gaps I had inbetween the detailing and the helmet itself.
