This scarce Bloomsbury paperback edition has the First Issue points "The Wendy Cooling blurb to the front board" the word "wand" appears twice on page 53" the word "Philosopher's is misspelled "Philospher's" to the back cover and the words "Wizardry and Witchcraft" later changed to Witchcraft and Wizardry on later editions. Mysterious letters written in emerald green ink begin arriving at Number 4 Privet Drive, launching Harry from his dull life with the Dursleys into an extraordinary world of magic wands and flying broomsticks. He is left only with a lightning-bolt scar on his forehead, curiously refined sensibilities and a host of mysterious powers to remind him that he's quite, yes, altogether different from his aunt, uncle, and spoilt, pig-like cousin Dudley. One of just 5,150 paperback copies of the first impression, published on the same day as the incredibly rare hardback. Extremities very slightly rubbed, minor crease to rear wrapper, some foxing to edges and first few leaves; a near-fine copy. All volumes are Very Good to Near Fine and are clean and bright with minimal faults - volume two has some fading to the spine. Whether it’s an antique wardrobe, mid-century sideboard or that signature chair for your bedroom, we have something that will tickle your fancy.

Black hardback (red lettering to the spine) with Dj(two small creases and nicks on the edges of the Dj cover), both in near fine condition. The hardcover issue consisted of 500 copies, most of which went to libraries, with the softcover issue making up the bulk of the first edition for sale to the public with a print run of 5,150 copies. The wraps are in great condition with some soft light creasing to the rear panel and only a very soft corner crease to the upper front panel.
